Rental Terms &
Conditions

By completing a booking with DriveonHTX, you agree to the following terms. These exist to protect both you and your vehicle — read them carefully, they're straightforward.

24-Hour Billing Increments
All rentals are priced in 24-hour periods from your pickup time. If your return time exceeds your pickup time on the return date, an additional full day is charged. Example: pickup at 10 AM on Friday, return at 11 AM on Saturday = 2 full days billed. There are no partial-day rates.

Mileage Limits
Standard vehicles: 200 miles per day included. Escalade & Tesla Model X: 100 miles per day included. Overage: $0.75/mile (standard) or $1.50/mile (Escalade/Model X). Unlimited Mileage add-on ($100/day) removes the limit entirely.
Late Return Policy
Up to 15 minutes late: no charge, courtesy window. 15–30 minutes late: $20 late fee applied automatically. Over 30 minutes late without prior communication: $50 late fee and the vehicle becomes subject to repossession at the renter's expense. Always text us if you're running behind — we'll work with you when possible.
Fuel Policy
All gas-powered vehicles must be returned with a full tank of the specified fuel grade. If returned below full: $15 service fee + the cost of fuel not replaced at current market rate per gallon, charged to card on file. The Prepaid Fuel Package eliminates this entirely — vehicle arrives pre-filled.

Tolls
All tolls incurred during your rental are your responsibility. Any toll charges identified after return will be billed to your card with a $10 service fee per toll transaction. To avoid these fees entirely, add the Prepaid Toll Pass add-on at booking, which covers all electronic tolls during your rental period.
Cancellation Policy
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before your scheduled pickup time. Cancellations made within 48 hours of pickup forfeit the full rental payment — no partial refunds. No-shows forfeit full payment. There are no exceptions to the 48-hour cutoff. To cancel, contact us immediately at support@driveonhtx.com.

No Smoking — Zero Tolerance
Smoking of any substance — cigarettes, cigars, vapes, cannabis — is strictly prohibited in all DriveonHTX vehicles. Violation results in a $250 minimum cleaning and deodorizing fee charged immediately to the card on file. Enforced via vehicle inspection at return.

Vehicle Cleanliness
Vehicles must be returned in reasonably clean condition. Normal use is expected and accepted. Excessive mess — including sand, food debris, pet hair, or trash requiring more than standard cleaning — will incur a $75–$150 cleaning fee depending on severity, separate from the smoking policy.

Vehicle Condition at Pickup
Before leaving the pickup location, the renter is responsible for inspecting the vehicle and reporting any pre-existing damage to the host immediately. Damage that is not reported before departure may be attributed to the current rental. Photos are strongly recommended. Once you leave, you accept the vehicle in the condition described.

Traffic Violations & Tickets
Any traffic citation, parking ticket, speed camera notice, or red light camera violation issued during your rental period is solely the renter's responsibility. This includes violations received by mail weeks after return. DriveonHTX will forward any received violations to the renter and charge a $15 administrative processing fee per citation.

Towing
Towing any trailer, vehicle, or load with a DriveonHTX vehicle requires prior written approval. Unauthorized towing voids the rental agreement and all insurance coverage. Approved towing is limited to the vehicle's rated tow capacity. Any damage resulting from unauthorized towing is the renter's full liability.

Personal Belongings
DriveonHTX is not responsible for any personal items left in the vehicle during or after your rental. Always check the vehicle thoroughly before returning it. Items left in returned vehicles will be held for 72 hours — after which they may be donated or discarded. Contact us immediately if you've left something behind.

No International Travel
DriveonHTX vehicles are authorized for use within the continental United States only. Taking any vehicle into Mexico or any other country is a breach of the rental agreement, immediately voids all insurance coverage, and may result in vehicle recovery at the renter's expense. No exceptions.

Pets
Pets are permitted in some vehicles by prior written approval only. Unauthorized pets will result in a cleaning fee of $150 minimum. Contact us before booking if you need to travel with a pet — we'll let you know which vehicles accommodate them and any applicable conditions.

Under-25 Surcharge
Renters between ages 21–24 are subject to a 30% surcharge on the daily base rate. Applied automatically at booking when your date of birth is entered. Minimum rental age is 21. Renters 25 and older pay the standard rate with no additional fee.

Authorized Drivers
Only the verified renter and any additional drivers added during booking ($10/trip) are authorized to operate DriveonHTX vehicles. Unauthorized drivers void the rental agreement and all insurance. All drivers must be 21 or older with a valid US driver's license.

Accidents & Damage
In the event of an accident: call 911 first, then contact DriveonHTX immediately at (409) 710-2216. Do not admit fault. Document damage with photos and a police report number. Failure to report damage within 24 hours of discovery may result in full liability for repair costs.
🚫
Prohibited Uses
Vehicles may not be used for: rideshare or delivery services (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, etc.), unauthorized towing, off-road driving, racing or speed events, or any illegal activity. Any prohibited use immediately voids the rental agreement and all coverage.
Weekend Surge Pricing
A $10/day surcharge applies on Fridays and Saturdays for all vehicles. This is calculated automatically during booking based on which days of your rental fall on Friday or Saturday. The daily base rate shown reflects weekday pricing — your booking summary will display the exact per-day breakdown.

Insurance
Coverage

All DriveonHTX rentals require valid insurance coverage. You have two options: verify your existing personal auto insurance through Axle, or purchase coverage directly through Bonzah. Either way, you're covered — and we make it simple.

Using Your Own Insurance — Axle Verification

If you have active personal auto insurance that extends to rental vehicles, you can use it for your DriveonHTX rental and skip the daily insurance fee entirely. We verify your coverage instantly using Axle — a secure insurance verification platform trusted by top rental operators.

Connect Your Carrier
During booking Step 4, select "My Insurance" and click "Connect with Axle." Choose your insurance carrier from a list of 50+ providers including State Farm, GEICO, Progressive, Allstate, USAA, Nationwide, and more.

Instant Verification
Axle verifies your active policy in real-time — typically under 30 seconds. It confirms your policy number, coverage dates, liability limits, and that your policy extends to rental vehicles. No documents needed from you.

Coverage Confirmed — $0 Insurance Fee
Once verified, your insurance is accepted and the Bonzah daily fee is removed from your total. Your existing deductible and coverage limits apply. You save anywhere from $6.90 to $55+ per day depending on what coverage you would have purchased.
💰 How Much Can You Save?
By using your own insurance, you avoid all Bonzah daily fees. On a 5-day rental, that's a savings of $109.75 (CDW alone) to $275+ (full coverage) compared to purchasing through us. Most personal auto policies extend to rental vehicles — check with your insurer if unsure.
⚠ Insurance Restrictions — Escalade & BMW X4
The 2021 Cadillac Escalade (high vehicle value) and 2015 BMW X4 (excluded make on Bonzah's list) are only available with personal insurance verified through Axle. The Bonzah purchase option is not available for these two vehicles. If you don't have personal insurance, these vehicles cannot be rented at this time.

Purchase Coverage — Bonzah Insurance

If you don't have personal auto insurance or prefer not to use it for a rental, DriveonHTX offers coverage through Bonzah — a licensed insurance provider underwritten by Pablow Inc., authorized in all 50 states. Policies are purchased automatically at booking confirmation. You choose which coverages to add.

CDW
Collision Damage Waiver
$21.95/day
CDW is required for all Bonzah purchases and cannot be removed. It covers collision damage to the vehicle up to $35,000 with a $500 deductible. Acts as primary insurance. Does not cover theft or single-vehicle accidents.
SLI
Supplemental Liability Insurance
$11.90/day
Increases your total liability protection to $500,000 ($100K per person bodily injury, $10K property damage). Best paired with RCLI for maximum protection. Covers US and Canada.
PAI
Personal Accident Insurance
$6.90/day
Covers the renter and passengers — not the vehicle. Includes $50,000 renter loss of life, $5,000 passenger loss of life, $1,000 accidental medical expense, and $500 personal effects coverage. Up to $25 deductible.
How Bonzah Policies Work
All Bonzah policies are purchased automatically at booking confirmation — no separate website or app needed. You'll receive a policy document via email immediately after confirmation. Policies include a 10-day free cancellation period if your rental is cancelled before it begins. Minimum renter age of 21 applies. For claims, contact Bonzah directly at bonzah.com.

Security
Deposit

A refundable security deposit is held at the time of booking to cover potential fuel shortfalls, toll charges, or minor incidentals. This is not an additional charge — it's a temporary hold on your card.

Deposit Amount: $100
A $100 security deposit is held on your card at booking confirmation. This hold covers fuel reimbursement if the vehicle is returned below full, outstanding toll charges incurred during your rental, and any unreported minor damage or incidentals. The hold does not appear as a charge — it reduces your available balance temporarily.
At Booking Confirmation
$100 Hold Placed
Your card is authorized for $100 in addition to the rental total. This is a hold (authorization), not a charge. Funds are not transferred — they are reserved temporarily.
At Vehicle Return
Inspection & Reconciliation
Host inspects fuel level and vehicle condition at return. Any applicable deductions (fuel shortfall, tolls, incidentals) are calculated at this time. You'll be notified of any deductions via email.
Within 48 Hours of Return
Deposit Released or Settled
If no deductions apply, the full $100 hold is released within 48 hours of your scheduled return time. Your bank may take 3–5 additional business days to reflect the release. If deductions apply, the net amount is released and the deducted amount is charged separately with an itemized receipt.
What Can Be Deducted

Dispute Window — 24 Hours
Any deduction will be communicated via email with an itemized receipt. You have 24 hours from notification to dispute a charge by contacting support@driveonhtx.com. After 24 hours, deductions are considered final. Normal wear and tear, pre-existing documented damage, and active insurance claims may not be deducted.

Safety

DriveonHTX is built on verified identities, licensed insurance, and legally binding digital agreements. Every booking goes through the same trusted infrastructure used by major financial institutions and rental platforms worldwide.

Stripe Identity Verification
Every guest must complete identity verification through Stripe Identity before their booking is confirmed. You'll photograph a government-issued ID (driver's license or passport) and take a real-time selfie. Stripe's AI matches the documents and flags inconsistencies in seconds — the same technology used by leading banks.

Your identity data is processed and stored by Stripe, never by DriveonHTX. Verification takes approximately 2 minutes and results are returned instantly. This step protects both guests and hosts from fraudulent bookings.

DocuSign Rental Agreement
Your rental agreement is signed electronically via DocuSign, the global leader in digital signatures. All DriveonHTX agreements are legally binding under the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN Act) and enforceable in all 50 states.

The agreement is pre-filled with your reservation details — vehicle, dates, mileage limit, insurance selection, and pricing. After signing, a copy is emailed to you immediately and stored securely in DocuSign's system for the duration of any applicable statute of limitations.

Bonzah Insurance
Bonzah is a licensed rental vehicle insurance provider underwritten by Pablow Inc., authorized in all 50 states. Coverage is regulated by the Texas Department of Insurance and issued as a formal insurance policy — not a damage waiver or optional club membership.

Policies purchased through DriveonHTX are real, enforceable insurance contracts. In the event of a claim, you interact directly with Bonzah's claims team, not with DriveonHTX. All Bonzah policies include a 10-day free cancellation window if your trip is cancelled before it begins.

Stripe Payments
All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor — the highest level of certification in the payment industry. Your card details are never stored on DriveonHTX servers. Stripe uses AES-256 encryption and tokenization for all transaction data.

The deposit hold and rental charge are two separate transactions: your booking total is charged at confirmation, and the $100 deposit hold is placed separately and released within 48 hours of vehicle return.
Your Data is Protected
DriveonHTX does not store payment card data. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your identity verification data is processed by Stripe and subject to their privacy policy. Your insurance data is processed by Bonzah or Axle and subject to their respective privacy policies. We retain booking information as required by applicable law.

Can I pick up the vehicle if I don't have personal auto insurance?
Yes — that's exactly what the Bonzah purchase option is for. During Step 4 of booking, select "Purchase Coverage" and choose your desired combination of coverages. CDW ($21.95/day) is required for all Bonzah purchases and covers collision damage to the vehicle. You can add liability, personal accident, and supplemental protection from there. All policies are purchased automatically at confirmation — no separate account needed.
What happens if I return the vehicle late?
Returns up to 2 hours late are accommodated as a courtesy when coordinated in advance via text. Returns more than 2 hours past your scheduled return time without prior communication are charged at $15/hour up to a full additional day rate. If you know you'll be late, contact us immediately — we'll work with you. Uncommunicated late returns affect the next guest's booking and will be charged accordingly.
How does the mileage limit work and what if I go over?
Standard vehicles include 200 miles per day. The Escalade and Tesla Model X include 100 miles per day. Overage is charged at $0.75/mile (standard) or $1.50/mile (Escalade/Model X) and deducted from your security deposit or charged to your card with an itemized receipt after return. If you anticipate driving more than the included miles, add the Unlimited Mileage add-on ($100/day) during booking — it removes the limit entirely.
Can I extend my rental while I have the vehicle?
Extensions are possible subject to vehicle availability. Contact us at least 4 hours before your scheduled return time to request an extension. If the vehicle is not booked by another guest, we can extend at the standard daily rate (plus any applicable weekend surcharge). Extensions are confirmed via text and billed to your card on file. Same-day extension requests are not guaranteed but we do our best to accommodate.
Is the $100 security deposit always required?
Yes — the $100 hold is required for all bookings, regardless of rental duration or vehicle. It is a temporary authorization hold on your card, not a charge. Your bank may show it as a pending transaction. The hold is released within 48 hours of your return time, provided no deductions apply. If you have questions about a specific deduction made from your deposit, contact us directly at support@driveonhtx.com within 72 hours of return.
